Dahi gujiya – meetha dahi vada –

                             


                        Dahi vada, whenever we hear this name, feel taste like sour and sweet in the mouth. Dahi vada is also known as dahi bhalla. Dahi bada is being liked by everyone, some may like khatta, some may like meetha, in any festival, whether Holi or Deepawali, Dahi Bada is been definitely one of the dish.  So, we’ll make Dahi Vada today ..


Ingredients –

Washed urad dal – 1 cup ( soak urad dal at least for two hours)
Yoghurt/curd  –  2 cups (hung curd)
sugar  –  1/2cup
 cumin seeds  –  1/2 tsp.

Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp.

cashew – 20 (finely chopped)
raisins  –  30 (finely chopped)  .
Oil – for frying

 for serving  –
(Use as your taste)

tamarind liquid – 1 tbs
Black salt  –  1/4  tsp
Cumin powder  –  1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder  –  1/4 tsp   

Coriander leaves  –  finely chopped
Green chillies  –  finely chopped

Soak the urad dal for at least two hours , drain it and grind the urad dal with little water to make a smooth batter. Now add cumin seed and asafoetida in the batter.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Mix cashew and raisins together. Heat oil in the pan and turn on gas on medium flame.

for gujiya, take a bowl and place a watery cotton cloth or a hanky over it and hold it tightly from behind. Take a portion of dal mixture equal  size of a lemon, now press this with wet fingers making a flat disc, put 1/2 tsp cashew and raisins mixture on it and fold it from one side in the shape of half circle, gujiya is ready.




                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Now drop the gujiya in the oil and deep fry the gujiya until it become golden brown. Take out gujiya and immediately soak in the normal water and leave them for ten minutes. 


 make the curd till the gujiya in the water, so beat the curd till it become smooth, you can add a bit of water in the beaten curd if it looks thick, now mix sugar in the curd.


 Now takeout gujiya from water and press it in between the palm to remove exess water, now dip gujiya in the  curd and leave them for half hour.

                           Now to serve it, take the gujiya in the plate then pour some curd, tamarind liquid, sprinkle black salt, cumin powder, red chilli powder and garnish with coriander leaves and green chilli, serve the delicious and yummy dahi gujiya.

Note –

   -If gujiya become chill, use warm water for soaking.
